LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Once a hot spot in the Butchertown neighborhood, a now shuttered building will soon get new life.

Formerly home to the Blind Pig and Meat, the historic building on the corner of Washington and Buchanan Streets is set to become a new restaurant and bar.

With former Le Coop chef Bobby Benjamin heading the operation, Butchertown Grocery aims to bring an approachable fine dining experience to the neighborhood.

Benjamin says all ingredients will be on display in a grocery like setting.

"You're going to be able to see everything I'm cooking with as far as ingredients -- the freshness -- where your ingredients are coming from and then eventually we're going to be able to get into the process of selling things," Benjamin said.

Benjamin says he hopes to have Butchertown Grocery open in six months.
