USPS says road conditions have delayed 18,000 Louisville deliveries

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The U.S. Postal Service hasn't been able to make 18,000 deliveries in Louisville because of bad road conditions.

Employees are attempting deliveries, but sometimes the roads aren't safe.

Just on Saturday, a carrier slid into a tree near Fern Creek.

Two others in that same area fell this week and one ended up in the hospital.

A USPS spokesman says your road might be clear, but if secondary roads aren't, then your mail could be delayed.

If you still don't have your mail, you can go to usps.com or call 1-800-ASK-USPS and put your mail on hold.

As long as you do that by 2 a.m., you can pick up your mail at the post office the next day.

Just remember, you can only put your mail on hold once every 30 days.
