LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Officials have released the name of the woman who died following a Sunday three-vehicle crash on Dixie Highway, near the Jefferson and Hardin County line.

Cynthia Thomas, 36, died Sunday night at U of L Hospital from multiple blunt force injuries, according to Deputy Coroner Jim Wesley.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says Thomas was riding in the front passenger seat of a Toyota at the time of the crash.

The crash happened on Dixie Highway near Stites Station Road in West Point, Ky. just after 1 p.m.

Investigators say the Toyota, traveling southbound on Dixie Highway, crossed into the northbound lanes and hit another car. Both oncoming vehicles involved were Chevrolet trucks.

Three other people were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.  A child was also taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

One of the involved cars was pulling a trailer, but that driver sustained no injuries.

Dixie Highway was closed for nearly four hours for the investigation.
