LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Starting next month, Thunder fans will have a chance for an exclusive "inside" look at the show thanks to McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana and its new Thunder Insider program.

Local McDonald's Owner/Operators and the Kentucky Derby Festival made the announcement on Feb. 27. The new promotion runs from March 6 through April 2, at all 100 McDonald's Restaurants throughout Kentuckiana.

"McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana is a proud partner of KDF and enjoys supporting Thunder Over Louisville,” said Ira Salls, local McDonald's Owner/Operator. “This new promotion allows us to offer exclusive and new opportunities for customers and the community."

To become a McDonald's Thunder Insider, fans will need to get the special code from any McDonald's restaurant. No purchase is required. Simply enter that code at www.ThunderOverLouisville.org/McDInsider.

Everyone who signs up will receive “Insider” communication about the upcoming air show and fireworks spectacular set for Saturday, April 18. In addition, those fans will be entered to win a chance for themselves and a guest to be a VIP at the 2015 Thunder Over Louisville show. Winners will be drawn and contacted on April 3.

Official rules and more information can be found online at www.ThunderOverLouisville.org/McDInsider.

“We're very thankful to McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana for continuing to support Thunder Over Louisville,” said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival President and CEO. “Their generous commitment over the last 10 years has proved to be a tremendous component of the show. We know fans are always wanting a behind-the-scenes look at the show and this new promotion will give them the inside scoop.”

This year's Thunder theme – “Boom With A View” – is play on the senses, referencing all that fans hear and see on Thunder day. The 2015 Thunder air show will also feature appearances by the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds, as well as the U.S. Army's Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.
