Bevin focuses on right to bear arms in rally in West Point

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A Kentucky candidate running for governor held a rally Saturday for people who appreciate the second amendment.

Matt Bevin met with voters at Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point.

He spoke about our constitutional freedoms  and the financial impact facing the state if they're not protected.

The military veteran said the Second Amendment is important because he supports the right to bear arms.

"It's been said that a man who is armed is a citizen and a man who is unarmed is a subject," Bevin said. "And there is a lot of truth to that in some measure, and so being with people that value the same things I value is important to me."

Bevin told people to stand up for their freedoms, urging them to get out and vote on May 19.
