LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they arrested a robbery suspect after he left his license at the scene.

Charles McStoots III, 29, was arrested Sunday evening at his home in the 300 block of Mac Brae Road, near Southside Drive and Strawberry Lane.

An official police warrant states that on Jan. 30, 2015, McStoots stole merchandise from the Target store located at 9070 Dixie Highway.

Police say that as McStoots was leaving the store, he was pursued by a loss prevention officer. Authorities say McStoots then engaged in a physical altercation with the loss prevention officer in front of the store. Officials say he then fled the scene following the altercation.

Authorities say the loss prevention officer sustained minor injuries to his hand during the altercation.

Official records say that as McStoots fled, he dropped his driver's license and one of the items police say he stole.

McStoots is charged with one count of robbery.
