Ten-year-old given key to city for helping neighbors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 10-year-old Louisville boy was given a key to the city for his work cleaning sidewalks Thursday.

Ben Hofstetter was announced as the winner of the Mayor's "Clean Sidewalk" initiative.

The Mayor encouraged people to use the hashtag #CleanSidewalk to show the work they are doing around the city.

Hofstetter submitted a video, showing that he shoveled sidewalks for seven of his neighbors.

He says his dad always encourages him to get out and shovel, and he was surprised to get the key to the city.

"It means a lot to me," Hofstetter said. "I never really thought I'd be on TV."

He was given a key to the city, and will also get a suite to a Louisville Bats game.
