Louisville Arena Authority adopts resolution in memory of Jim King

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The board of directors for the Louisville Arena Authority has voted to adopt a resolution that will name a meeting space in the memory of former Louisville Metro Council President Jim King.

A resolution was adopted dedicating a room to King, who died at the age of 63 on Jan. 14, on Monday morning.

The resolution calls for the regular meeting space of the Louisville Arena Authority to called the "Jim King Board Room." A plaque identifying the room is also being placed inside the KFC Yum! Center.

The organization's board of directors unanimously voted to adopt the resolution. 

Members of King's family were present for the dedication.

Part of the resolution said that King, “tirelessly guided the Finance Committee and the Board with sound counsel and advice, deploying his financial acumen, creativity and sound business judgment in dealing with matters of concern to the Arena and the Board, from the time that he joined the Board and the Finance Committee, up until his untimely death.”
