If you were one of the many people who tried to comment on yesterday's Point of View, you undoubtedly know all you got was a busy signal.I wanted to take this opportunity to apologize and in an effort to be completely transparent with you, I want to explain exactly what happened.
Over the past several weeks, WDRB has been in the process of making a complete switchover from our old telephone system to a new state of the art system to better serve the needs of our growing staff. Unfortunately, when going through such a major change, there's usually one little detail in such a system that doesn't work as expected the first time out. And the Point of View hotline was that little detail in this instance.
For nearly 13 years now, Point of View has stimulated discussion on important subjects in our community, and a vital part of that discussion has been the feedback we receive every week from all of you. We appreciate the time you take to call us with your thoughts and I'm personally disappointed that, in this case, we aren't able to share those thoughts with our audience.
This happened, not because we failed to do something, but because we are doing something. That will continue, but I promise you that next week, when I ask for your thoughts on my Point of View, you will be heard.
Besides, if that's the worst thing that happens today, it'll be a pretty good day.
