UPDATE: Police looking for Chevy Malibu after JCPS bus shot near 44th and Duncan

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jefferson County Public Schools bus carrying four students was shot at near 44th and Duncan Friday morning -- and police say they've got a description of a vehicle that may have been involved.

Sources tell WDRB News the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. and involves Bus No. 0830, which was transporting students to Buechel Metro High School. None of the students were injured, said Mandy Simpson, a JCPS spokeswoman.

Simpson said several rounds were fired and the bus sustained damage, but the bullets did not penetrate the bus.

"The bus driver said he heard shots around 46th and Market, but believes the bus was actually struck near 44th and Duncan," she said.

Louisville Metro Police say they are looking for a four-door white Chevy Malibu that may have been involved in the incident. Police say they can't rule out the possibility that the bus was targeted.
