LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A Washington County, Indiana, firefighter has been arrested for rape, according to Indiana State Police.

A release states a woman claims she was raped on Dec. 13 while on a date with volunteer firefighter Kelby Hash. The victim told a Harrison County Sheriff's Detective on Jan. 8 she had met the suspect in Hardinsburg and agreed to go on a date with them.

Police say she told the detective the rape happened while the pair was alone at the Posey Township Firehouse on East U.S. Highway 150 in Hardinsburg.

"The victim in this case alleged that the rape occur at a rural volunteer fire department here in Washington County," Indiana State Police Corporal Carey Huls, "That was part of the investigation and the questioning went along those lines."

Indiana State Police picked up the investigation in Washington County and issued an arrest warrant for Hash, who was picked up Friday.

"There's a lot of things that go into an investigation like this, naturally. Interviews with everyone involved were used to determine the warrant," Corporal Hul said.

Hash is being held at the Washington County Jail on a $20,000 full cash bond and is charged with rape.
