Frankfort Avenue reopens after train hits empty vehicle

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Frankfort Avenue in Clifton has reopened following an early morning train accident.

A MetroSafe dispatch supervisor confirms that the train hit an empty car at Pope and North Charlton Streets just before 4:30 Wednesday morning.

Frankfort was closed from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. while crews cleared the scene.

There's no word yet on why the vehicle was abandoned.
