LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville man and his girlfriend took advantage of his elderly aunt by using her bank card without her knowledge.

According to arrest documents, 37-year-old Gary Parker along with his girlfriend, 28-year-old Sarah Hovious, were staying with the victim when they began using "the victim's debit card for their personal use and gain without the victim's consent or knowledge."

Police say Parker and Hovious used the debit card to withdraw cash from ATMs and to make purchases. The purchases were allegedly made between Nov. 1, 2014 and Feb. 26, 2015.

The victim (who is now deceased) noticed the unauthorized charges and called police. The loss to the victim was more than $500.

The arrest warrant states that Parker and Hovious were interviewed and admitted to making unauthorized charges. Police say they apologized and agreed to repay the money.

Parker and Hovious were arrested and charged with knowingly exploiting an adult and fraudulent use of a credit card.
