Basketball fans pour into downtown Louisville for NCAA games

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Basketball fans are already starting to take over downtown Louisville -- and a lot of them are decked out in blue.

Officials at the KFC Yum! Center expect every seat to be filled when the Wildcats take on Hampton tonight.

Kentucky is playing last at the arena today. The first game starts at 12:40 p.m. Fans, many of whom are from Iowa State, started lining up early ahead of that matchup -- but of course Wildcats fans are already mixed in with the crowd.

People we've been talking to say parking doesn't seem too bad yet, but that's expected to change as the day goes on. One UK fan from Louisville we talked to has almost the perfect set up: his permanent parking spot is right next to the KFC Yum! Center.

"[I'm] fortunate enough to have a place in Whiskey Row right here, so it's fun looking out the window watching all the people come and go," said Neil Taylor, a UK fan. "You can't beat it."

"I actually had to work this morning -- early this morning -- and then took the day off," said John Taylor, another UK fan. "We wanted to make sure we got here, got parking. Glad to see some of the other teams."

The city says if you need help finding a parking spot today, you can search hashtag #LouParking on Twitter. Parking will be going quickly, so you're definitely going to want to come down here with a game plan and think about carpooling.
