DRY RIDGE, Ky. - Kentucky State Police have arrested a man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography.
Officials with KSP's Electronic Crime Branch arrested 27-year-old Justin Hamilton last Thursday night, according to a KSP news release. He was arrested after police obtained a warrant to search his home.
Hamilton's arrest is the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that started in December of last year.
Authorities say the investigation began after it was discovered that Hamilton had been showing explicit images of children online, including videos of pre-adolescent children participating in sexual acts.
Police also say equipment that was used in the alleged offenses was taken to the state police's forensic laboratory to be examined.
Hamilton faces 11 counts of possession and nine counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Both of the offenses are Class D felonies, with each count punishable by one to five years in prison.
Hamilton was is being held in the Grant County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
