LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Jewish Community is celebrating a milestone birthday - 125 years.

JCC members got together for a party Sunday with cake and cookies.

Organizers say generations of families have passed through the it's doors since 1890 when it catered to just health and wellness issues.

Today, the center hosts athletic, recreational, civic and cultural events.

Leaders say the success and growth of JCC is attributed to a couple different factors.

"Our secret is we have wonderful members," Sara Wagner said. "We have a fantastic staff, and together we just built an incredible community for everybody to join in."

JCC also honored Annette Sagerman at the ceremony.

She spent 65 years working at the center.
