LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police say they have arrested two men for breaking into 16 cars.

Police arrested 20-year-olds Ryan Gibson and Aaron Higgins Monday and charged them both with seven counts of theft, 16 counts of breaking into a car and five counts of criminal mischief.

Police began investigating break-ins near Chippewa Drive, Kewanna Drive and Goyne Avenue after receiving complaints from residents of cars with broken windows and missing property.

Both Higgins and Gibson were located and arrested by police on March 13, after which police found property from a separate series of break-ins near Dutch Lane in Jeffersonville on March 12.

The men are being held at Floyd County Jail.

According to police, additional charges are being considered for Aaron Higgins, who may have been involved in another string of break-ins -- including forced entry and theft from a marked Jeffersonville Police vehicle.
