LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --
Overnight flooding
and
the massive fire at GE Appliance Park
Friday morning forced the Louisville Zoo to shutter its doors for the day.

According to a statement from Zoo spokeswoman Kyle Shepherd, the Zoo will be closed for the full day.

"We are making sure the animals are safe and putting them in for the day due to smoke, debris and more severe weather to come," Shepherd said. "We expect to be open tomorrow."
