More progress made on repairs at National Corvette Museum

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - More progress has been made on repairs at the National Corvette Museum, where a massive sinkhole opened up last year.

Crews began pouring cement on half of the Skydome floor on Wednesday morning.

That's where a sinkhole swallowed eight Corvettes in February of last year.

This year, the sinkhole was filled in with limestone.

After stabilizing the room, crews began pouring cement into rebar and micro-pile supports.

After the sinkhole opened up, tourism at the museum increased by 66 percent.

GM is restoring some of the damaged Corvettes.

Others will stay on display at the museum.
