LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Having a heart attack is the number one cause of death for those on the job in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Labor Cabinet examined worker fatalities from 2012 to 2014.

In that time span, 87 Kentuckians suffered fatal heart attacks while at work.

Twenty-eight resulted from being hit by an object. Nineteen heart attacks were caused by falls and 17 happened after transportation crashes.

Ten of the people were truck drivers. That occupation's workers are the most likely in the state to suffer heart attacks on the job.
