LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- FBI agents accuse a Louisville man of making bomb threats to a business in Michigan.

Court records show the arrest of Robert Paul Cardwell II, 30, of Louisville on Tuesday. He is charged with "threat to maliciously destroy (a) building by explosive," according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in federal court in Bay City, Michigan.

Cardwell is accused of making two telephone bomb threats to a business in Birch Run, Michigan, in June 2014. The business was once managed by Cardwell's former girlfriend, the affidavit said; however, the woman was no longer employed at the store at the time of the alleged threats.

Cardwell's criminal history includes a domestic violence conviction in Michigan and protective order directing him not to have contact with the woman, the affidavit said.

Cardwell was lodged in the Grayson County, Ky., jail pending a federal court hearing. Court records showed no hearing had been scheduled as of late Wednesday.
