LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – An office building on the campus of the Kentucky School for the Blind was heavily damaged by an early morning fire Thursday.

Crews were called to the scene of the fire in the 200 block of Haldeman Avenue near Brownsboro Road a little after 7 a.m.

A firefighter at the scene tells WDRB News crews that a falling tree knocked power lines down onto the building, causing it to catch fire. We're told the fire started in the attic and swept through the building.

No one was inside at the time, and no injuries have been reported. It took 22 firefighters 18 minutes to extinguish the flames.

The Kentucky School for the Blind is on spring break this week.
