Meade County police report suspicious road barricades
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – There might be someone attempting to stop cars for an unknown reason in Meade County, according to a press release from police in the area.
The Brandenburg Police Department and the Meade County Sheriff's Department say they have received reports of at least two similar incidents.
Police say there have been reports of traffic cone barricades completely blocking roadways.
In one instance, on Highway 933 near Long Branch Road, a vehicle stopped at a barricade. When the driver got out to remove it, he was approached by three or four people who ran when the driver pulled a gun.
Police say it happened overnight and they were not able to locate the people after they fled.
Law enforcement would like to warn individuals that if they approach a completely barricaded roadway to follow these simple steps:
- Lock your vehicle doors and Call 911 immediately (911 will know if there is an issue with the road being closed)
- Turn around and use an alternate route if possible, or wait in a secure area for law enforcement to arrive or advise that it is clear
Please contact your local law enforcement if you may have any information about these types of incidents.
