LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Fifty people were arrested Saturday morning in Grayson County.

About 30 officers from several law enforcement agencies helped serve 147 criminal summons, warrants, bench warrants and civil papers.

Members of the Grayson County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police, Leitchfield Police Department and the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force aided in the run.

It comes just two days before the Grayson County Sheriff's Department publishes the names criminals in the paper and on social media.

"We want the citizens of Grayson County to know that we are doing something about the warrants that we have in the office and attempt to save money for the taxpayers as well as some of the child support warrants we have," Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins said. "We attempt to serve as many papers as we can today ahead of us."

The goal of publishing the names is to cut down on the amount of gas and manpower needed to serve the papers.

Chaffins also says that since it announced the plan to publish the names, three or four people have turned themselves in.
