LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are trying to educate pedestrians on what you shouldn't do while crossing Louisville streets.

This PSA was released after a deadly year, something highlighted in the video's opening sequence.

LMPD reports 483 pedestrians were hit in Louisville in 2014 -- 18 of those accidents were fatal.

However, LMPD's traffic unit found that pedestrians were at fault in 60 percent of the fatal crashes.

Louisville received a $300,000 grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because the city's pedestrian rate exceeded the national average.
