LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A memorial service will be held tonight on the University of Kentucky campus to remember Jonathan Krueger.

The 22-year-old was shot and killed while walking home with a friend early Friday morning during a robbery.

The Kentucky Kernel, UK's student newspaper, will host the service at 8 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

The memorial service is open to anyone who wishes to come and pay their respects to Krueger. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and people can write messages and deliver photos they may have of Krueger that will later be compiled into a scrapbook and sent to his family.

The Kernel has raised more than $20,000 for a scholarship in Krueger's name, which will be annually awarded by the Kernel Press Inc. to a promising Kernel photographer.
