LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- We pride ourselves on solid journalism at WDRB and we're happy to announce that our team of journalists won two regional Edward R. Murrow awards.

The first was awarded to our own Valerie Chinn -- for her months-long investigation into alleged corruption within the Southeast Bullitt County Fire Department.

Her reports lead to a larger investigation and the resignation of Chief Julius Hatfield.

We also won a Murrow for our live coverage of the Fern Creek High School Shooting.

The Murrow Awards have been given out since 1971. They are awarded based on a station's pursuit of excellence in journalism.
