LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A dozen dogs rescued from horrific conditions in Tennessee are now in safe hands in Louisville.

They're already looking healthier and happier with the Kentucky Humane Society as they arrived today.

About 100 dogs were rescued earlier this month in Tennessee during two investigations. Some of the dogs were found dangerously thin, living in complete darkness and several inches deep in their own waste.

The dogs will be put up for adoption once their health is assessed and they're spayed or neutered.
