Kentucky State Police searching for inmate who escaped from Lexington facility

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate officials say escaped from a facility in Lexington.

Authorities are searching for 45-year-old Charles Blanton, according to a post that was placed on the Kentucky State Police's Facebook page.

Officials say he escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington Sunday evening just before 9:30 p.m.

Blanton is described by authorities as a white male.

Officials say he is 6'0 and weighs 200 lbs and he has brown hair and blue eyes.

Blanton has a tattoo of a web on his right elbow.

Anyone with information regarding Blanton's whereabouts is asked to call the Blackburn Correctional Complex at 859-246-2366 or Kentucky State Police at 502-227-2221.
