This Saturday, Louisville will celebrate the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby, and if you're one of the tens of thousands who are visiting our city to join in the festivities -- welcome.

If you've been here before, it's good to have you back. If this is your first trip, I'm glad you finally made it. And in either case, I hope that while you're here, you'll take the time to experience all that our community has to offer.

Aside from the world's finest thoroughbreds, I think you'll find our restaurant scene to be first-class as well. Museum Row on Main Street offers plenty of fascinating looks at other aspects of our city. And if you haven't already planned your excursion along Kentucky's Urban Bourbon Trail, well, you might want to stay an extra day or two.

Two things I can guarantee: Louisville knows how to throw a party, and it's also just about the most welcoming place you're ever likely to visit. And here's one dirty little secret I can add: We're not all experts on the horses here. But most of us will tell you we are. So as far as hot tips are concerned, let the buyer beware!

The most important thing is - have fun. And be sure to come back soon. Because the only thing that's more fun than doing the Derby…is doing it again.

I'm Bill Lamb and that's my Point of View.
