LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Hermitage Grand Gala got underway Friday evening with late celebrity addition Chris Rock.
This is the first year for the event, which is being held at Hermitage Farm in Oldham County.
Tickets started at $1,000 a piece.
Guests walking into the party found a carpet of rose petals, a mirrored horse statue and works of art from the 21C collection.
A circular bar in the center of the event served the $2 million champion ham, bought last August at the Kentucky State Fair.
The actual menu included a choice of swordfish and filet mignon.
"We've been working on it for a full year," the party's co-host Steve Wilson said. "You may remember we announced it just before Derby last year. So, it's been quite an effort."
We're told Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence plan to take the stage to be part of the entertainment.
