JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Police in Jeffersonville say a 15-year-old is responsible for four armed robberies in southern Indiana.

After the teen's arrest, the Clark County Sheriff's Office says they recovered a bag of cash, a mask, guns and deposit bags with a store name on it.

Authorities say the first robbery was at Save A Step on April 23 in Clarksville. Surveillance photos were released when police were still looking for a suspect.

The teen is next accused of hitting a Family Dollar in Henryville, a Walgreens in Floyd County and a Dollar General in Sellersburg.

"Absolutely floored that the individual that did this was only 15-years-old," said Lisa, who asked us only to use her first name. She's the family member of one of the victims in the Henryville hold up.

During that robbery, police say the suspect held a gun to the head of one employee and pulled the trigger. When no bullets came out, he said it was a joke.

Investigators say the suspect threatened to use a gun in every case. They recovered one that was fake and one that was real.

"The suspect -- with the exception of Save A Step -- would wait for a local business to close, wait for the employees to leave, meet them in the parking lot with a handgun, force them back inside of the business, then steal cash," said Det. Scottie Maples with the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

Police say when the teen robbed the Dollar General Sunday night, he tied up two employees with tape and stole one of their cars. That's how officers tracked him down.

"We were able to get a description, which we found it," Maples said. "We were in small pursuit, which the subject fled on foot and Jeffersonville PD was able to apprehend the subject for us."

Investigators say the teen admitted to all four robberies. They say he's from Clark County and his parents have been cooperating.

"I'm really happy that the person got caught," Lisa said.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office says the teen is facing several charges, including armed robbery and criminal confinement.

Because of his age, officials can't release the suspect's name but say he's being held in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
