LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --  Shopping for Mother's Day is a lot of pressure. Husbands and children are often stumped about how to make Mom feel special. 

Polkadot Chair blogger Melissa Mortenson shows a ten minute project you can easily customize.  It's a Mother's Day mason jar gift complete with personalized tags.

About the Polka Dot Chair Blog & Melissa Mortenson: 

Melissa Mortenson is a married mother of three who is also a full-time blogger. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky but grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where she learned to sew. She is a trained fabric designer who initially studied molecular biology and worked in IT for an insurance company. 

After the birth of her children kids, she picked up sewing again and started the DIY blog in 2007. She discovered a love for designing and sharing projects with others.  Her blog focuses on her four true loves: family, sewing, DIY projects and travel.  

In 2014, Mortenson published her first book. "Project Teen: 21 Handmade Gifts your Teens will Love".
