LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The number of HIV cases in southern Indiana has grown to 149.

The Indiana State Department of Health says that number is up four cases since Friday.

Officials say a little more than 8,200 needles have been brought in. That number includes those collected as part of the needle exchange program and community-returned needles.

More than 9,400 needles have been given out.

The extended Executive Order for the needle exchange will expire on May 24.

Today, Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed a law making it easier to set up needle exchange programs in the state.
