LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky-based specialty coffee roaster is moving its headquarters to NuLu.
According to a news release, Safai Coffee, a 17-year-old, privately owned corporation, will relocate its headquarters and coffee roasting facility to NuLu. It is also announcing plans to build a visitors center "designed to deliver the ultimate specialty coffee experience."
"While learning about specialty coffee and tasting some of the world's finest micro-lot or small batch coffees, visitors will learn about the Safai Arabica Farm Assistance Initiative or Safai Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization created to assist coffee farmers with replanting efforts where coffee trees have been destroyed by disease," the news release states.
Safai Coffee is currently headquartered in La Grange, Kentucky.
The company says the expansion will likely create 21 full-time jobs over the next 10 years.
