Jeffersonville Police begin using body cameras

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Jeffersonville Police went on duty Monday equipped with new body cameras.

The cameras were displayed last week during a press conference, as officers began training with the devices.

Police will test the cameras on the streets for 30 to 45 days.

Jeffersonville Police Chief Kenny Kavanaugh says he's hoping the cameras will lead to more transparency with the public.

Video from the cameras will be stored at the police department.

About 52 officers will be wearing the cameras.
