LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tom Brady has been benched by the league in the wake of the "Deflate-Gate" scandal, but he says he plans to appeal his four-game suspension.

The punishment by the NFL comes after they found the New England Patriots used deflated footballs to gain an advantage in the playoffs. The suspension affects the first four regular season games.

Fans say it doesn't change their opinion of Brady.

But they don't want the team to raise their championship banner without their Super Bowl MVP.

"No," one fan said adamantly. "He's the greatest of all time. Are you kidding me?"

"You can't unveil the banner without Brady being there," another Patriots fan said. "You can't do it."

Patriots fans are criticizing the league on Twitter with the hashtag #NoBradyNoBanner.

The team itself faces a $1 million fine and the loss of its first round draft pick next year.
