Butler Traditional High School dedicates war memorial to fallen alumni

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Members of the Butler Traditional High School choir lend their voices to a solemn occasion.

The school dedicated a new war memorial to honor the 10 alumni who were killed in action.

Nine served in Vietnam and Sergeant Darrin Potter lost his life while serving in Iraq in 2003.

"This memorial is a victory it is hallowed ground because these were our neighbors, our classmates our teammates and friends. and we have never forgotten them," said retired Army Col. Shaun Scully.

Taps was played to honor those who lost their lives serving the U.S.

The memorial lists the names of those who were killed in action.
