LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Paying it forward to give JCPS students the gift of technology.

Students at Knight Middle School displayed for Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and JCPS Superintendent Donna Hargens how they're using donated iPads in a music class.

Gazelle, Inc. donated 100 tablets to the district worth about $25,000.

The company operates a website for trading in and buying used electronics.

Company leaders wanted to give back after what they experienced when they moved to Louisville.

"We've been here for about two years and the mayor and city have made us feel so welcome that we're always looking for ways to help the community. I really think it's the mayor that inspired us because they have been so welcoming to us," said company spokesperson Benjamin Katz.

Eleven JCPS middle schools received the iPads.

Gazelle and Mayor Greg Fischer issued a corporate challenge to encourage other businesses to step up and match this donation.
