LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Waterfront Development Corp. is seeking proposals from developers for two small pieces of land near Slugger Field.

Both sites are within walking distance of venues like the KFC Yum! Center, the Kentucky Center for the Arts, the planned Old Forester distillery and restaurants on Main and Market streets, the Waterfront agency noted in a press release.

One of the potential development sites is a 0.6-acre grass strip along Witherspoon Street, across from Waterfront Park and adjacent to a large surface parking lot.

In the request for proposals, the agency says it would like to see "a mixed-use development involving a tower that takes advantage of park views."

The parcel on Washington Street could "easily accommodate shops and parking within a structure," according the RFP.

Developers have until Aug. 3 to submit proposals.
