LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer was injured, when his cruiser hit a vehicle from a local fire district.

The crash at Bardstown Road and Hudson Lane happened about 6:40 a.m. Thursday. LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the LMPD officer was on duty, when his cruiser rear-ended a command SUV from the Buechel Fire Protection District.

Mitchell says the LMPD cruiser also hit another car in the next lane and a traffic pole. The officer was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
