Louisville, KY (WDRB) - The third-ranked Louisville Cardinals waited more than ninety minutes past the scheduled start time to get their game with Clemson underway because of a long rain delay Thursday in Durham, North Carolina. Louisville's offense seemed to be delayed even longer.

Clemson knocked off U of L 7-2 in the second game of pool play. The Tigers scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning and two more in the bottom of the second inning.

Louisville picked up seven hits off Clemson pitching but left eight me on base.

Cardinals starting pitcher Kyle Funkhouser went five innings, giving up nine hits and five earned runs. Louisville is now 1-1 in pool play.

The Cardinals return to the field Saturday morning to meet Florida State. The first pitch is scheduled for 11AM eastern time.
