LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing theft charges after police say he and an accomplice stole two dogs.

According to an arrest report, 20-year-old Scotty Johnson and 23-year-old Paul A. Sims went to a woman's home and took two of her pet dogs, both of which were wearing shock collars worth $1,000 each.

Police say the woman captured the act on surveillance video, and immediately recognized Johnson.

Additionally, police say Johnson and Sims were captured on surveillance video at Thorntons, wearing the same clothes and using the same vehicle as they were during the alleged theft.

"The dogs are believed to be dead," the arrest report states.

Louisville Metro Police arrested Johnson Thursday evening. He is charged with theft by unlawful taking. Sims is still on the loose, according to the arrest report. Police say he is wanted for cruelty to animals and are asking the public to be on the lookout for him.

Anyone with any information on Sims' whereabouts is asked to call police at 574-LMPD.
