LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is giving holiday travelers relief over Memorial Day weekend.

"People can travel and we know it's a high volume time of year," says Andrea Clifford of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. "We want them to be able to get to their destinations without a lot of delays."

There will be no new interstate or ramp closures near the downtown crossing portion of the Ohio River Bridges Project, but long-term projects will remain in place with signs and detour routes. A complete list of those projects can be found here.

Transportation officials stress the importance to remember new ramps that have opened due to recent traffic shifts. Therefore, drivers should still be cautious.

Interstate and ramp closures will resume overnight on Tuesday, May 26.
