LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Those who knew Curtis Lee Brown III gathered at Wyandotte Park today in Louisville.

Brown was 17-years-old when someone shot and killed him on May 22, 2007 near 35th and Broadway.

Every year since then, his family has held a gathering.

His cousin says that for them, it's a celebration.

"It's a remembrance of him for us," Tenicia Warren said. "That we never forget him, you know, that we never will forget him so we will celebrate him every year as if he was here."

Other families also affected by homicide are invited and have shown up year after year.
