LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police have arrested a woman officials say broke into several cars, while accompanied by a small child.

Latricia O'Bannon, 29, was arrested Sunday evening in the 600 block of Mix Avenue, near South 7th Street, after police say she was caught breaking into a car, with a small boy "crying hysterically by her side."

Police say they instructed O'Bannon to stop breaking into the vehicle, but she refused to follow orders from police.

Authorities state that she then balled her fist at police.

Officials say O'Bannon kept screaming "that's life" at the child as she was being arrested. Authorities also say she would not identify an adult who would be able to come and get the boy.

O'Bannon is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, menacing and criminal mischief. The child was taken to the Home of the Innocents.
