LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Chester Taylor was preparing to work in his yard Saturday afternoon. His two trucks were in his driveway near 16th and Algonquin and he was nearby when a driver plowed through one of his trucks and kept going.

"A person that was riding past. He seen him hit my car but the vehicle kept going," Taylor said. "He left and traveled all the way over here...he smacked that tree right there."

Neighbors told police the driver, 31-year-old Timothy Tull, ran from his car.

"He was rubbing his face in the dirt," another neighbor Jonathan Beck said. He was also outside at the time. "Three little kids -- they were in the backseat."

The three kids were left alone after the crash.

"One of the kids was like the mans daughter or something," Beck said. "She was concerned about her father."

Beck got the kids out of the car and waited with them until police arrived.

Police say the father told them he ran from the car because he was high on spice, a form of synthetic marijuana. Officers found him hiding in some bushes.

Chester Taylor says he's less concerned about his trucks and more concerned about what could have happened, knowing his grandchildren play on the street nearby.

"Families," Taylor said. "I see families just walking."

Tull is facing charges of DUI, drug trafficking and leaving the scene of an accident among others.
