LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have arrested a man officials say tried to make contact with a minor for sexual activity.

Owen Taylor, 49, was arrested Tuesday just after 5 p.m. by officials with the KSP Electronic Crime Branch, according to a KSP news release. Kentucky State Police received assistance from the Richmond Police Department.

Taylor was arrested following an undercover investigation. Officials began investigating Taylor after he allegedly made a post on a well-known website. Authorities say that Taylor said he was interested in engaging in sexual acts with a minor.

Officials obtained a warrant and searched Taylor's residence on Tuesday evening. Authorities seized equipment during the search and sent it to KSP's forensic lab.

Taylor is being held at the Madison County Detention Center.

He is charged with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor/police officer for sex. The offense can result in a prison term of one to five years.

Authorities are continuing their investigation.
