LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Mt. Washington man is charged with rape and sex abuse after police say he brutally raped a female victim.

According to an arrest report, 28-year-old Michael W. Scott, "is the primary suspect in a sexual assault investigation."

Police say Scott and the 25-year-old victim met one evening, and Scott brought her to a wooded area, claiming to be taking her to some nearby apartments. Instead, police say he brought her to a tent in the wooded area.

Police are withholding the exact location.

The victim says Scott held her down against the ground and fondled her against her will, "and against her pleas for the suspect to stop," according to the report. Scott also allegedly held her down and raped her.

Louisville Metro Police say the victim tried to fight him off but he picked her up and slammed her on the ground, causing a head injury. According to the arrest report, the victim, "again plead[ed] for him to stop, but he did not."

Scott was arrested Thursday evening and charged with first degree rape and first degree sex abuse. He is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $250,000 bond, according to the Louisville Metro Corrections website.
