JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police say one person is in custody after a stabbing outside Clark Memorial Hospital on Friday night.

Sgt. Isaac Parker, with Jeffersonville Police, says sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the ambulance bay at Clark Memorial Hospital on a report of a man with a weapon. Before they could arrive, the Clark County Sheriff's Department responded and was able to detain Jorge De Leon, 29.

Before the police arrived, EMS personnel observed De Leon acting confrontational toward patients and personnel near the ambulance bay at the hospital.

As hospital security approached him, De Leon stabbed Clark Memorial Security Officer Billy Hochadel multiple times.

Hochadel was transported to University Hospital, where he was treated and released.

De Leon was transported to the Jeffersonville Police Department for questioning, but is now being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

He is charged with attempted murder, intimidation with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief.
